How to apply for Account Manager – APAC
Satellogic
About Satellogic
Satellogic builds and operates its own Earth observation satellites end to end, from design and manufacturing to launch and on-orbit operations. It sells decision-grade climate and geospatial insights to government and commercial customers, moving them from one-off imagery to continuous, alert-driven monitoring. The team is distributed across five countries and works on satellite engineering, software, data science, and go-to-market.
About the role
As Account Manager for APAC, you own relationships with government and commercial customers across the region. You connect customer needs to Satellogic's monitoring and analytics products, and you work closely with Remote Sensing Engineers and Geospatial Intelligence Analysts on the Customer Success team. The role is remote and full-time, focused on growing accounts and keeping customers on continuous monitoring contracts.
A typical day
A typical day could include calls with APAC government or commercial customers, internal coordination with remote sensing engineers and analysts on customer requirements, and updating account plans or proposals. Since the team is distributed across five countries, much of the work happens over video and messaging, with occasional travel to customer sites. Ask the hiring team how they split time between new business and existing account management.
Who Satellogic is looking for
- Has account management or customer success experience selling or supporting geospatial, Earth observation, or satellite data products.
- Knows the APAC region well, including government, defense, agriculture, energy, or infrastructure buyers and their procurement cycles.
- Can discuss remote sensing concepts such as imagery, change detection, and monitoring with technical customers and internal engineers.
- Is comfortable working remotely across time zones with a distributed team, and can travel to customer sites when needed.
Tips for this application
- Name the APAC countries or customer segments you have sold to, and describe the deal sizes and contract types you managed.
- Show that you understand Earth observation use cases such as climate monitoring, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and defense, and use that language in your resume.
- Reference Satellogic's model of continuous monitoring and alert-driven decisions rather than one-off imagery, since that is how the company positions its products.
- Highlight experience working with technical colleagues such as remote sensing engineers or analysts, because the Customer Success team is built around them.
- If you have worked with government or defense procurement in APAC, state the specific agencies or programs you supported, within what you are allowed to disclose.
What to cover in your cover letter
Explain which APAC markets and customer types you have managed and the results you delivered. Describe how you have sold or supported geospatial or remote sensing products, and how you handled technical customer questions. Show you understand Satellogic's end-to-end model, from satellite manufacturing to analytics, and why that matters to customers. State how you would work with Remote Sensing Engineers and Geospatial Intelligence Analysts to keep accounts on continuous monitoring contracts.
Draft a cover letterResearch before applying
- Review Satellogic's satellite constellation, its vertical integration model, and the difference between managed monitoring and full satellite ownership.
- Read Satellogic's published use cases in climate monitoring, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and defense to understand what customers buy.
- Check which APAC countries Satellogic already serves or has announced partnerships in, and note any gaps you could fill.
- Look up the backgrounds of the Customer Success team and any public statements from leadership about the APAC region.
Likely interview topics
Based on the job description, expect questions about:
- How would you grow an existing APAC government account from one-off imagery purchases to a continuous monitoring subscription?
- Describe your experience selling or supporting Earth observation, geospatial, or satellite data products to APAC customers.
- How do you handle a technical customer question about data accuracy, revisit rates, or change detection that you cannot answer alone?
- Which APAC markets do you know best, and how do procurement rules and buying cycles differ across them?
- How would you coordinate with Remote Sensing Engineers and Geospatial Intelligence Analysts to keep a customer account healthy?
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying with a generic account management resume that does not mention geospatial, Earth observation, or satellite data.
- Claiming APAC experience without naming specific countries, customer types, or deal sizes.
- Treating the role as pure sales and ignoring the technical customer success side of working with remote sensing engineers and analysts.
