at HITACHI ENERGY

🏢 About HITACHI ENERGY

Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader advancing sustainable energy systems toward a carbon-neutral future, combining deep domain expertise in power grids with digital innovation. As part of Hitachi, Ltd., the company offers unmatched scale, stability, and a mission-driven culture focused on electrification and decarbonization. Working here means shaping the energy transition while being backed by a century-long legacy of engineering excellence.

About This Role

As VP Sales for Grid Automation North America, you will own the commercial strategy and execution for a portfolio spanning software, automation, communications, services, digital grid, and power conversion. You will lead a high-performing sales organization, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market share across the U.S. and Canada. This is a transformational leadership role that directly impacts Hitachi Energy's growth trajectory in the energy transition.

💡 A Day in the Life

You might start with a pipeline review with regional sales directors, then join a strategy session with product management on a new digital grid offering. Later, you could meet with a key utility customer to discuss a major automation project, and end the day coaching a sales manager on a complex deal. Expect frequent travel to customer sites and internal meetings, all while driving a high-performance sales culture.

🎯 Who HITACHI ENERGY Is Looking For

  • Proven track record of leading large, distributed sales teams (100+ people) in the power, energy, or industrial automation sector, consistently exceeding revenue targets.
  • Deep understanding of grid automation technologies, including SCADA, substation automation, distribution management systems, and digital grid solutions.
  • Experience selling complex, high-value solutions to utilities, independent power producers, and industrial customers across North America.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into actionable sales plans, manage P&L, and drive cross-functional collaboration with product and marketing teams.
