How to Apply for Technical Project Manager, Red Team

at FAR AI

๐Ÿข About FAR AI

FAR AI is a unique nonprofit that bridges the gap between academic research and industry by incubating and accelerating high-impact AI safety projects. Working here means contributing to ensuring AI systems are trustworthy and beneficial to society, in a mission-driven environment that values technical rigor and real-world impact.

About This Role

As Technical Project Manager for the Red Team, you will own the end-to-end hiring pipeline for red-team talent, manage RFP and opportunity pipelines, and drive process improvements. This role is impactful because you will directly enable FAR AI to conduct critical AI safety evaluations by recruiting top technical talent and managing client engagements.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with reviewing resumes and scheduling work trials for red-team candidates, then shifting to drafting a proposal for a new RFP. Afternoon could involve analyzing hiring pipeline metrics to identify bottlenecks, followed by a team sync to discuss upcoming events or policy deadlines. The day ends with updating project trackers and preparing for a partner call.

  • Has experience in project management within technical or AI safety contexts, with a track record of managing complex hiring pipelines.
  • Possesses strong organizational and analytical skills to identify bottlenecks and improve team performance.
  • Can effectively engage with external partners, draft proposals, and support negotiations for RFPs and opportunities.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to switch between technical writing, event organizing, and policy work as priorities shift.
