Tech Policy Strategist (AI for Democracy Action Lab)

• Develop and lead advocacy strategies at the intersection of AI and democracy, including campaign development, coalition building, and policy innovation.
• Engage with federal and state government officials, tech platforms, and civil society to advance pro-democracy AI and data governance policies.
• Serve as a thought leader and trusted resource, providing expert analysis and commentary on AI policy issues.

This role directly shapes policies and coalitions that constrain AI deployments accelerating authoritarianism and promote AI applications that strengthen American democracy, protecting civic trust and self-government.

• At least 12 years of relevant professional experience (or 10+ years with advanced degree) in law, public policy, political science, or campaigns, with sophisticated understanding of AI.
• Demonstrated ability to design and lead tech policy campaigns or advocacy at federal or state level, including lobbying strategies.
• Strong commitment to cross-ideological advocacy and ability to build relationships across the political spectrum.
• Experience managing complex projects and teams, drafting legislative proposals, and excellent judgment about political activism.

Starting salary range $141,100 to $160,000, commensurate with experience. Remote position based in the US. Benefits not detailed but includes compensation aligned with internal equity.
