How to Apply for Team Lead, Customer Success

at Novisto

🏢 About Novisto

Novisto is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company that helps organizations manage ESG data and reporting with greater efficiency and accuracy. Working here means joining a mission-driven team at the intersection of sustainability and technology, with a fully remote culture across Canada.

About This Role

As Team Lead, Customer Success, you will blend people leadership with hands-on account management, guiding a small team of CSMs while owning your own portfolio of enterprise accounts. Your impact will be twofold: driving team performance and directly ensuring customer retention and growth in the ESG software space.

💡 A Day in the Life

Your morning might start with a 1:1 with a CSM to review their account health and provide coaching, followed by a cross-functional sync with product or sales on a customer escalation. Afternoons are dedicated to your own accounts, leading QBRs or negotiating renewals, and you'll wrap up by updating forecasts and playbooks for your team.

🎯 Who Novisto Is Looking For

  • You have 4+ years of Customer Success or Account Management experience in B2B SaaS, specifically with enterprise customers who have complex needs.
  • You have a proven ability to coach or mentor CSMs, whether as a formal lead or senior peer, and you enjoy developing others.
  • You excel at owning renewals and expansion targets, with a track record of identifying and closing upsell opportunities.
  • You communicate effectively with executives, can navigate cross-functional escalations, and thrive in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

📝 Tips for Applying to Novisto

1

Highlight any experience with ESG, sustainability, or data management software in your resume and cover letter.

2

Quantify your impact: e.g., 'Drove 120% net retention' or 'Managed a portfolio of 15 enterprise accounts with $2M ARR'.

3

Show your leadership style: include examples of how you've coached or mentored peers, even informally.

4

Tailor your resume to emphasize enterprise customer lifecycle management, not just general CS.

5

Mention your comfort with remote collaboration tools and async communication, as Novisto is fully remote.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

["Your passion for sustainability and how it aligns with Novisto's mission.", 'Specific examples of leading a team or mentoring CSMs, with measurable outcomes.', 'Your experience managing enterprise accounts through renewals and expansions, including executive-level engagement.', "How you've operationalized CS processes (e.g., playbooks, forecasting) to improve team efficiency."]

  • Read about Novisto's recent funding, partnerships, or customer case studies on their website or news.
  • Understand the competitive landscape: who are Novisto's main competitors in ESG software, and what differentiates Novisto?
  • Review their company culture page or blog to get a sense of remote work norms and values.

💬 Prepare for These Interview Topics

Based on this role, you may be asked about:

1 Describe a time you coached a CSM to improve their performance or retention metrics.
2 How do you prioritize accounts and activities across your own portfolio while leading a team?
3 Walk us through your approach to a high-risk account escalation and how you coordinate cross-functionally.
4 What metrics do you use to forecast renewals and expansion, and how do you track them?
5 Why are you interested in ESG software, and how do you see customer success driving sustainability outcomes?
