How to Apply for Talent Acquisition Partner - Contract

at HITACHI ENERGY

๐Ÿข About HITACHI ENERGY

Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader advancing sustainable energy systems toward a carbon-neutral future, with a strong focus on grid automation, power quality, and high-voltage products. Working here means contributing to the energy transition at scale, alongside a diverse, mission-driven team that values innovation and collaboration. The company's commitment to sustainability and digital transformation makes it an exciting place for HR professionals who want to support growth in a purpose-driven industry.

About This Role

As a Talent Acquisition Partner on a temporary contract, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and developing talent pipelines for critical roles across Hitachi Energy's US operations. You'll partner closely with hiring managers and business leaders to understand their needs, engage top talent, and ensure a seamless candidate experience. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's rapid growth in renewable energy and grid solutions, directly impacting their ability to deliver on sustainability goals.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve reviewing incoming applications, conducting initial phone screens with candidates, and meeting with hiring managers to calibrate on role requirements. You'll also spend time sourcing passive candidates through LinkedIn and other channels, updating the ATS, and coordinating interviews. Collaboration with HR partners and business leaders to refine talent strategies is a key part of the role, all while working remotely.

๐ŸŽฏ Who HITACHI ENERGY Is Looking For

  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in engineering, energy, or technical fields, with a proven track record of sourcing passive candidates.
  • Strong proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors) and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and talent CRM platforms.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, hiring strategies, and interview plans, ideally in a matrixed or global organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to HITACHI ENERGY

1

Tailor your resume to highlight experience in technical recruiting, especially in energy, manufacturing, or engineering sectors, and quantify results (e.g., 'filled 20+ engineering roles in 6 months').

2

Explicitly mention your familiarity with Hitachi Energy's core business areas (grid automation, power grids, transformers) and how you've recruited for similar technical roles.

3

Since this is a contract role, emphasize your ability to ramp up quickly, work autonomously, and deliver results in a fast-paced environmentโ€”use bullet points to show contract or project-based successes.

4

In your application, address the remote nature of the role by demonstrating your experience with virtual collaboration tools and remote team coordination.

5

If you have experience with sustainability or renewable energy recruiting, make that prominent, as it aligns with Hitachi Energy's mission and will set you apart.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

1. Your specific experience in technical recruiting and how it maps to Hitachi Energy's need for talent in grid automation and renewable energy. 2. A concrete example of how you've built a talent pipeline for hard-to-fill engineering roles, including the tools and strategies used. 3. Your ability to partner with hiring managers remotely and influence hiring decisions through data-driven insights. 4. Your enthusiasm for Hitachi Energy's mission and how you can contribute to their talent acquisition goals during this contract period.

โš ๏ธ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Avoid using a generic resume that doesn't highlight technical recruiting experienceโ€”this role requires a clear understanding of engineering and energy roles.
  • Don't overlook the contract nature of the position; failing to address your ability to work on a temporary basis and deliver immediate value can make you seem misaligned.
  • Avoid neglecting to mention remote work experience; since the role is remote, not demonstrating your ability to thrive in a virtual environment could be a drawback.
