Strategic Campaigns Director

• Develop and execute strategic campaigns focused on building power for higher education workers, incorporating capital strategies.
• Monitor emerging developments relevant to capital strategies and identify opportunities for campaign escalations.
• Foster relationships with coalition partners and represent AAUP to other labor unions and advocacy organizations.
• Conduct workshops for AAUP members and chapter leaders, and brief field staff on campaign priorities.

This role strengthens the higher education labor movement by uniting workers against partisan attacks, defending academic freedom, and advancing racial equity, ultimately protecting democracy and fighting for workers over billionaires.

• Five or more years of work experience in a similar role with demonstrable success designing and implementing strategic campaigns.
• Experience working with digital research tools and superior written and oral communication skills.
• Associate degree required; BA or advanced degree preferred.
• Commitment to racial equity and ability to travel domestically several times per year.

Salary range: $150,000 – $170,000 per year. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; paid sick days; paid vacation days; and 401(K).
