Mission

What you will drive

  • Support California civil legal aid providers through technical assistance, training, and advocacy to address individual legal needs of youth impacted by foster care and juvenile justice systems.
  • Conduct advocacy at local, state, and systems levels on issues affecting systems-impacted youth, including technology, mental health access, and community-based services.
  • Collaborate across YLC's legal, policy, and program teams to advance organization-wide advocacy goals using litigation, legislation, media, and narrative change.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Current active California bar license or willingness to obtain California licensure (including RLAA status).
  • For Staff Attorney: minimum 1 year post-law school experience; for Senior Attorney: minimum 5 years post-law school experience with project coordination or supervision.
  • Demonstrated advocacy experience in juvenile justice, foster care, education, health, youth homelessness, or related field.
  • Interest in technology, digital systems, data use, and AI as they affect systems-impacted youth.
