About This Role
As the Staff Accountant - Grants & Compliance, you'll report to the Comptroller and be responsible for managing the financial lifecycle of grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. You'll work cross-functionally with program and development teams to track grant spending, prepare reports, and help secure future funding.

A typical day might involve reviewing grant expenditures to ensure they align with funder restrictions, preparing a financial report for a federal grant, and meeting with program managers to review budget-to-actual reports. You might also reconcile accounts, process journal entries, and assist with the month-end close. Throughout, you'll collaborate with the Comptroller and other teams to maintain accurate records and support Everyone On's mission.

Based on this role, you may be asked about:
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Focusing only on general accounting skills without addressing grant-specific experience; this role requires expertise in fund accounting and compliance.
- Ignoring the nonprofit context—candidates who emphasize for-profit experience without showing understanding of nonprofit financial management and mission-driven work may be overlooked.
- Neglecting to mention remote work capabilities; since the role is remote, failing to demonstrate self-discipline, communication skills, and virtual collaboration experience could be a disadvantage.
