Senior Software Engineer

• Design and implement core Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to ensure secure and scalable operation of Planet's services.
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure services, including Kubernetes clusters, and enhance observability using Grafana and SLOs.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to refine developer experience (DevEx) of managed infrastructure.

This role enables Planet's engineering teams to reliably deploy and scale services, supporting the delivery of satellite imagery data used for environmental monitoring, humanitarian aid, and commercial applications, thereby helping solve global challenges.

• 4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Linux, and public clouds (GCP or AWS).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, ArgoCD), Terraform, and GitOps.
• Proficiency in Go or Python, and experience with Docker and CI/CD workflows.

US base salary range: $142,800 - $178,500 (national), $153,000 - $191,300 (NYC/CA), $162,600 - $203,200 (San Francisco).
