How to Apply for Senior Manager, Channel Marketing

at Charge Point

🏢 About Charge Point

ChargePoint is the world's largest open EV charging network, operating at the center of the electric mobility revolution since 2007. As a NYSE-listed company (CHPT) with a mission to make the transition to electric easy for businesses, fleets, and drivers, it offers a rare chance to shape a trillion-dollar market. Employees are guided by values like Be Courageous and Love our Customers, making it a mission-driven, high-impact workplace.

About This Role

As Senior Manager, Channel Marketing, you will own the strategy and execution of marketing programs that drive demand through ChargePoint's channel partners—including resellers, distributors, and installers. Reporting to the VP of Growth & Demand Generation, you'll design co-marketing initiatives, enable partners with tools and campaigns, and measure pipeline impact. This role is critical to scaling ChargePoint's reach in North America and Europe, directly fueling the adoption of EV charging infrastructure.

💡 A Day in the Life

You might start your day reviewing pipeline metrics from partner campaigns, then join a call with a regional sales leader to align on a co-marketing plan for a key distributor. Later, you'd collaborate with the product marketing team to create enablement materials for a new charging solution, and end by analyzing results from a recent partner webinar to optimize future investments.

🎯 Who Charge Point Is Looking For

  • 7+ years of B2B channel or partner marketing experience, preferably in SaaS, hardware, or energy/EV industries, with a track record of building co-marketing programs that generate pipeline.
  • Deep understanding of channel ecosystems—resellers, distributors, installers—and how to enable them with sales tools, campaigns, and joint value propositions.
  • Data-driven mindset: able to set KPIs, analyze funnel metrics, and optimize partner marketing investments for ROI.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator who can work with sales, product, and regional teams to align channel strategies and execute globally.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to influence without authority and manage multiple partner relationships simultaneously.

📝 Tips for Applying to Charge Point

1

Highlight any experience you have with EV, energy, or hardware-as-a-service channels—ChargePoint values industry context, so quantify how your past channel programs drove revenue or adoption.

2

Use the phrase 'channel marketing' explicitly in your resume and cover letter, and detail specific partner types (e.g., resellers, distributors) you've worked with, as this role is laser-focused on that function.

3

Demonstrate familiarity with ChargePoint's partner ecosystem by researching their 'ChargePoint Partner Program' and referencing it in your application to show you understand their model.

4

Emphasize your ability to work remotely and cross-functionally, as this is a remote US role that collaborates with teams across North America and Europe—mention any distributed team experience.

5

Align your personal narrative with ChargePoint's mission: explain why EV adoption matters to you and how you can contribute to making electric mobility a global reality.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

["Your proven track record in designing and executing channel marketing programs that delivered measurable pipeline growth, with specific metrics (e.g., 'increased partner-sourced revenue by X%').", "Your understanding of ChargePoint's unique position as the largest open EV charging network and how you would leverage channel partners to accelerate adoption in key markets.", "Your ability to enable partners with effective sales tools, co-branded campaigns, and training—showing you can be a force multiplier for ChargePoint's growth team.", "Your alignment with ChargePoint's values (Be Courageous, Charge Together, etc.) and your passion for electric mobility, tying your personal motivation to the company's mission."]

  • → Explore the EV charging industry: key players, regulatory incentives, and adoption barriers, so you can speak credibly about the market context.
  • → Research ChargePoint's values and culture by reading their blog, LinkedIn posts, and employee reviews to tailor your answers to their mission-driven environment.

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Focusing only on direct marketing experience without translating it to a channel context—ChargePoint needs someone who understands partner ecosystems, so avoid generic demand gen examples.
  • Ignoring the EV/energy industry: candidates who show no curiosity about electric mobility or ChargePoint's specific business may seem like a poor cultural fit.
  • Using vague language about 'working with partners' without quantifying impact—this role demands a data-driven approach, so avoid unsubstantiated claims.
