Senior Major Gifts Officer

• Build and deepen relationships with major and principal donors to secure funding for Spark's climate initiatives.
• Coordinate funder strategy across programs, mapping funders to programs and sequencing asks.
• Coach program directors on effective funder communication and prepare high-quality funder materials.
• Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene and contribute to pipeline reporting and forecasting.

This role directly enables Spark's mission to accelerate progress on unsolved climate challenges by securing philanthropic funding for critical research and field-building initiatives, thereby contributing to a safer climate future.

• 7+ years of frontline fundraising or comparable sales/business development experience with a track record of closing six- and seven-figure deals.
• Experience building a portfolio of new relationships in a growth-stage or start-up environment.
• Proven experience working in or alongside scientific, research, or technical organizations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including pitch, business development, or grant proposal writing.
• Experience with CRM systems (Virtuous, Salesforce, or similar) and pipeline management.
