How to Apply for Senior Director of Policy and Government Affairs

at American Business Immigration Coalition

🏢 About American Business Immigration Coalition

The American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) is a mission-driven advocacy organization that unites business leaders and elected officials to advance common-sense immigration policies that strengthen the economy. Unlike traditional advocacy groups, ABIC bridges the gap between the private sector and policymakers, offering a unique platform to influence federal and state immigration reform. Working here means being part of a pragmatic, results-oriented team that values both policy expertise and relationship-building.

About This Role

As Senior Director of Policy and Government Affairs, you will report directly to the CEO and lead ABIC's strategy to build support among federal and key state elected officials for its immigration policy campaigns. You will drive policy analysis, manage relationships with congressional offices, and equip ABIC's Field team and business supporters to advocate effectively. This role is impactful because you will directly shape the legislative landscape on immigration, a critical and timely issue that affects countless industries and communities.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve meeting with the CEO to align on policy priorities, reviewing new immigration legislation and drafting analysis for business leaders, and calling congressional offices to advocate for ABIC's position. You might also coordinate with the Field Director to prepare business advocates for upcoming meetings with elected officials, ensuring they have the latest policy talking points and strategic guidance.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute advocacy strategies that engage federal and state policymakers.
