How to Apply for Senior Director, Development & Strategic Partnerships
at EFI Foundation
๐ข About EFI Foundation
EFI Foundation is a nonpartisan energy innovation lab founded by former U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest J. Moniz. It has a proven track record of shaping major federal clean energy policies, including the Energy Act of 2020, and offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of science, policy, and philanthropy.
About This Role
This role is central to building EFI's development infrastructure and transitioning from project-based to multi-year institutional funding. You will shape the fundraising strategy, manage donor pipelines, and engage major donors, foundations, and corporations to accelerate the clean energy transition.
๐ก A Day in the Life
You might start by reviewing pipeline reports and updating donor moves in the CRM, then meet with the CEO to discuss a six-figure foundation proposal. Afternoon could involve a virtual meeting with a corporate partner to explore a multi-year sponsorship, followed by drafting a tailored ask for a major donor in the Innovator's Circle.
