Senior Backend Engineer

• Design, develop, test, and review scalable code for Fastned's charging platform and infrastructure.
• Deliver core charging milestones including OCPP migration, Autocharge, Plug & Charge, and AI/ML-driven maintenance.
• Work AI-first using AI-augmented engineering tools like Claude Code and agentic workflows.
• Oversee technical development from ideation to deployment and take operational responsibility for monitoring, alerting, and incident analysis.

This role directly accelerates the transition to sustainable mobility by building the digital infrastructure that enables reliable, green EV charging across Europe, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

• 7+ years of professional backend experience with strong hands-on Kotlin and/or Java and microservices in production.
• Experience with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, relational databases (e.g., Postgres), RESTful web services, and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• AI-first instincts with good judgment about AI tooling strengths, limits, and risks.
• Strong communication and coaching skills; tech-lead experience is a plus.
