Mission
What you will drive
- Assess needs of helpline users via phone, chat, and SMS, providing appropriate referrals for substance use, gambling, mental health, and related services.
- Engage and motivate consumers to follow through on referrals using active listening and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Gather and record data from helpline users in the database, verify insurance status, and assist in updating provider databases.
- Represent the helpline at outreach events and participate in training and mentoring new staff.

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- Three to five years of related experience (lived or professional) in substance use, recovery, problem gambling, or harm reduction, OR a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, human services, or related field.
- Experience in information and referral services, customer service, counseling, substance use, or human services required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good computer skills and ability to use online systems and databases.
- Certified Resource Specialist (Inform USA) preferred or willingness to obtain within one year; fluency in a language other than English is a plus.
