Mission
What you will drive
- Lead quantitative analyses and research design for the Reproductive, Genitourinary and Digestive (RGUD) disease estimation team, including interpreting results and informing team leaders.
- Develop and implement new computational and statistical methods, create and maintain code in R, and produce complex datasets for epidemiological analyses.
- Draft presentations and manuscripts, lead and co-author scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to funding proposals.
- Mentor junior staff, provide training, and contribute to research design and project management.

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, math, economics, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline plus four years' related experience (or PhD plus two years' experience preferred).
- Excellent analytic, quantitative, and critical thinking skills; experience devising and executing statistical modeling techniques; proficiency in R.
- Track record of co-authorship on multiple scientific papers; strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with large datasets, data management, and computationally efficient modeling; ability to work independently and in a team.

This is a temporary position through December 2026. The role offers the opportunity to work fully remote within the US, with a schedule overlapping 50% of IHME office hours (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time). Weekend and evening work may be required. Salary is not specified.
