What you will drive

  • Provide legal services to support and defend rail-trails and multiuse trails against legal threats, including litigation and administrative advocacy.
  • Advise RTC policy staff on legislative and regulatory actions affecting railbanking and trail conversions.
  • Develop and oversee a network of pro-bono lawyers for litigation support.
  • Provide corporate general counsel services, including contract review and nonprofit governance advice.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • At least seven years of relevant legal experience, including litigation and/or administrative advocacy before federal courts and agencies.
  • Authorized to practice law in the District of Columbia.
  • Knowledge of federal railroad regulations and rail-trail conversion legal issues is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with nonprofit clients and corporate governance matters.
