How to Apply for Regional Coordinator

at NC Counts Coalition

๐Ÿข About NC Counts Coalition

NC Counts Coalition is a nonpartisan nonprofit committed to racial equity and systemic change for marginalized communities in North Carolina, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, low-wealth, and immigrant populations. Their cross-sector partnerships and focus on civic engagement, Census, and recovery/resiliency make them a unique force for building a healthy, just, and equitable state. Working here means being part of a mission-driven team that values trust-based relationships and community power.

About This Role

As a Regional Coordinator, you will be the on-the-ground connector, implementing outreach and mobilization efforts across civic engagement, Census, and recovery/resiliency. You'll build and nurture relationships with grassroots leaders and community-based organizations, recruit new Coalition members, and drive participation in campaigns and trainings. This role directly amplifies the voices of historically underrepresented communities in North Carolina.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with checking your CRM for new contacts and updating outreach logs, then attending a virtual check-in with coalition members. You might spend the afternoon planning a digital campaign or training session, followed by calls with grassroots leaders to build relationships and coordinate upcoming actions.

๐ŸŽฏ Who NC Counts Coalition Is Looking For

  • Has 1+ years of experience in issue organizing or electoral field programs, with hands-on tactics like digital campaigns and door-to-door canvassing.
  • Proven track record of collaborating respectfully with BIPOC communities and a deep commitment to racial justice and equity.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, survey platforms, project management tools (Monday/Asana), and CRM (Hubspot) to manage outreach and track progress.
  • Excellent communicator and relationship-builder who can earn trust with diverse stakeholders, from grassroots leaders to coalition partners.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to NC Counts Coalition

1

Tailor your resume to highlight specific experience with BIPOC communities and racial equity workโ€”use concrete examples of partnerships or campaigns.

2

In your cover letter, explicitly name how you've used project management tools like Monday/Asana or CRM like Hubspot in past organizing roles.

3

Research NC Counts Coalition's recent campaigns (e.g., Census 2020, Get Out the Vote) and reference them in your application to show genuine interest.

4

Emphasize any experience with door-to-door canvassing or digital organizing in North Carolina specifically, as local knowledge is a plus.

5

Be ready to discuss how you build trust in communities that have been historically marginalizedโ€”this is core to the role.
