Reach Out and Read National Policy Manager

• Shape and support the future direction of Reach Out and Read’s public policy and advocacy efforts.
• Provide advocacy training and partner with state Affiliates to advance state legislation and policies.
• Support federal and state advocacy, including legislative fly-ins, Congressional meetings, and policy briefings.
• Develop advocacy tools, resources, and training materials to build Affiliates’ capacity in public policy.

This role helps shape policies that support early childhood literacy and health equity, reaching 4.8 million children annually, particularly those from low-income families and BIPOC communities.

• Five to six years of relevant work experience in a legislative, executive branch, nonprofit, or other public policy setting.
• Demonstrated experience with Medicaid, CHIP, and health policy issues.
• Experience designing and delivering virtual advocacy training and developing advocacy toolkits.
• Strong analytical, written, and communication skills with experience conducting policy research and drafting advocacy materials.
