How to Apply for Program Associate - College & Career Success

at Minds Matter National, Inc.

🏢 About Minds Matter National, Inc.

Minds Matter National is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting driven, low-income students from high school through college and career. Their new 7-year model, Forward, Together, emphasizes long-term impact, and this role is central to that expansion. Working here means joining a mission-driven team that values relationships, data-informed practice, and innovation.

About This Role

As the first Program Associate for College & Career Success, you will coach Minds Matter graduates through college and into their careers, building trust and providing tailored support. This is a high-autonomy role where you'll shape a new program, travel to meet students on campuses, and collaborate with national and local teams. Your work directly contributes to closing the opportunity gap for first-generation and low-income students.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with reviewing student data to identify who needs outreach, then making calls or sending texts to check in on academic progress or personal challenges. You might travel to a local chapter to meet students in person, or collaborate with the national team to refine coaching strategies. Afternoons could involve documenting interactions in a CRM and preparing for upcoming campus visits.

🎯 Who Minds Matter National, Inc. Is Looking For

  • Has experience advising, coaching, or supporting college-aged students, particularly first-generation or low-income students, in a college access, college success, or student affairs setting.
  • Is relationship-driven and able to build trust quickly with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Is data-informed and comfortable using student data to prioritize outreach and adjust approach.
  • Is excited about building something new with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, and is comfortable with a hybrid role that includes regular travel.
