Position Summary The Safe Routes Partnership is seeking a Program and Policy Manager who can help turn ideas, policies, and funding opportunities into action and more funding for safer, healthier, and more active communities. This position combines program implementation, policy and funding knowledge, technical assistance, training, stakeholder engagement, and resource development to help communities advance Safe Routes to School and active transportation. A significant initial responsibility will be supporting a long-term grant funded initiative by providing technical assistance to communities, helping strengthen their project concepts and funding applications, and leading workshops and other learning opportunities. The position will also contribute to other Safe Routes Partnership programs, consulting projects, and organizational priorities. We are seeking someone with experience in Safe Routes to School and active transportation, knowledge of transportation funding, and transportation planning or policy expertise who can communicate with impact and help communities navigate complex challenges. If you excel at engaging stakeholders, translating technical or policy information into practical guidance, facilitating groups, and helping communities access more funding, we would love to hear from you. This is a full-time remote position. What We Are Looking For We are seeking a Policy and Program Manager who can: Manage and lead program activities and deliverables related to Safe Routes to School and active transportation. Provide technical assistance, coaching, and practical guidance to communities and partners. Help communities identify funding strategies and strengthen project concepts and applications. Lead workshops, trainings, webinars, and peer-learning opportunities for communities and partners. Translate transportation funding and policy information into clear, actionable guidance. Research and write toolkits, action plans, reports, case studies, and other educational and public-facing resources. Build strong relationships with communities, public agencies, nonprofits, advocates, and other partners, with an emphasis on authentic, equity-focused engagement. Stay current on Safe Routes to School, active transportation, transportation funding, safety, equity, and related policy and practice. Collaborate across the organization and contribute to other programs, consulting projects, proposals, and organizational priorities as needed.
