How to Apply for Product Marketing Manager – Market Products

at Voltus

🏢 About Voltus

Voltus is a leading platform that connects distributed energy resources (DERs) to electricity markets, enabling commercial, industrial, and residential customers to earn cash while enhancing grid flexibility and sustainability. Working at Voltus means directly contributing to the fight against climate change while being part of a rapidly growing company that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

About This Role

As a Product Marketing Manager for Market Products, you will own the positioning, messaging, and sales enablement for Voltus's Commercial & Industrial (C&I) DER solutions, such as the emergency load response program (ELRP) in PJM and the LMR offering in MISO. You'll bridge product, sales, and energy market dynamics, translating complex market-connected offerings into compelling narratives that drive adoption and revenue.

💡 A Day in the Life

Your day might involve meeting with product managers to understand new market rules for an upcoming PJM capacity auction, drafting a sales one-pager for the LMR offering in MISO, and analyzing campaign performance to optimize messaging for C&I prospects. You'll also collaborate with sales reps to gather feedback and refine enablement materials, ensuring they have the tools to effectively communicate value to customers.

🎯 Who Voltus Is Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of product marketing experience, preferably in energy, DER, or SaaS for energy markets.
  • Deep understanding of wholesale electricity markets (PJM, MISO) and demand response programs like ELRP and LMR.
  • Proven ability to translate technical market rules and product features into clear, high-converting messaging for C&I audiences.
  • Experience developing sales enablement materials and collaborating cross-functionally with product, sales, and market operations teams.

📝 Tips for Applying to Voltus

1

Highlight any direct experience with PJM or MISO markets, especially demand response or load management programs, in your resume and cover letter.

2

Use industry terminology correctly (e.g., ELRP, LMR, DER, capacity markets) to demonstrate domain expertise.

3

Quantify your marketing impact: include metrics like lead conversion rates, sales enablement adoption, or revenue influenced by your campaigns.

4

Tailor your application to show passion for Voltus's mission; mention how you've contributed to sustainability or grid innovation in previous roles.

5

If you have experience with C&I energy solutions, emphasize it—Voltus serves commercial and industrial customers, so understanding their pain points is crucial.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter
