How to Apply for Pricing & Sales Analyst

at Pioneer Transformers

๐Ÿข About Pioneer Transformers

ERMCO (Electric Research and Manufacturing Cooperative, Inc.) is a leading North American manufacturer of distribution transformers and engineered electrical solutions, headquartered in Dyersburg, Tennessee. As a vertically integrated company, ERMCO builds custom liquid-filled transformers that support grid modernization and the energy transition, serving utilities, OEMs, and industrial customers. Working here means contributing to critical power infrastructure with a culture focused on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

About This Role

As a Pricing & Sales Analyst at ERMCO, you will transform pricing, quotation, sales, and customer data into accurate reports and actionable insights that drive decisions across Pricing & Quotation, Sales, Finance, and Operations. You will own recurring reporting processes, investigate data and pricing discrepancies, support price sheet and quote maintenance, and perform ad hoc analyses. This role is pivotal in ensuring competitive pricing and supporting ERMCO's mission to deliver resilient, sustainable power infrastructure.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

You might start your day by updating and distributing recurring pricing and sales reports, ensuring data accuracy. Later, you could investigate a pricing discrepancy flagged by the sales team, collaborating with finance to resolve it. You might also work on an ad hoc analysis for a new product quote or maintain price sheets in the ERP system, all while communicating with colleagues across departments via virtual meetings and email.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Pioneer Transformers Is Looking For

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas) and experience with data analysis; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of investigating and resolving data discrepancies in pricing or sales contexts.
  • Detail-oriented and disciplined in validation, with the ability to manage recurring reporting deadlines and maintain data accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting, while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in pricing, sales, finance, and operations.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Pioneer Transformers

1

Highlight specific experience with pricing analysis, quotation support, or sales reporting in your resumeโ€”quantify results where possible (e.g., 'reduced pricing errors by 15% through improved validation processes').

2

Emphasize your advanced Excel skills by listing specific functions and tools you've used (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query, macros) and how they improved efficiency in past roles.

3

Research ERMCO's product line (liquid-filled transformers) and mention how accurate pricing and sales analytics support their mission in grid modernization and energy transition.

4

Tailor your resume to include keywords from the job description such as 'data validation,' 'price sheet maintenance,' 'ad hoc analysis,' and 'cross-functional collaboration.'

5

In your cover letter, address the remote aspect by demonstrating your ability to work independently, manage time zones, and communicate effectively with distributed teams.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

["Your hands-on experience with pricing and sales data analysis, including specific examples of how you've transformed raw data into actionable insights.", "Your proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools, and how you've used them to streamline reporting and identify discrepancies.", "Your understanding of ERMCO's role in the energy sector and how accurate pricing supports their competitive edge and customer partnerships.", 'Your ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while collaborating with stakeholders across pricing, sales, finance, and operations.']

โš ๏ธ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Submitting a generic resume that doesn't highlight specific pricing, sales analysis, or reporting experience relevant to manufacturing or energy sectors.
  • Failing to demonstrate advanced Excel skills or data validation techniquesโ€”this role requires hands-on technical ability, not just theoretical knowledge.
  • Neglecting to mention remote work experience or self-management skills, as this position is fully remote and requires independent initiative.
