How to Apply for Pricing Operations Analyst
at Pioneer Transformers
🏢 About Pioneer Transformers
ERMCO (Electric Research and Manufacturing Cooperative, Inc.) is a leading North American manufacturer of distribution transformers and engineered electrical solutions, headquartered in Dyersburg, Tennessee. What sets them apart is their vertically integrated operations, cooperative roots, and direct role in grid modernization and the energy transition. Working here means contributing to critical power infrastructure that supports utilities, OEMs, and industrial customers—a mission-driven environment with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
About This Role
As a Pricing Operations Analyst, you will own the reporting and analytical backbone of the Pricing & Quotation team, turning complex pricing, sales, and customer data into accurate reports and actionable insights. You will investigate discrepancies, maintain price sheets and quotes, and support Finance, Sales, and Operations with ad hoc analyses. This role is impactful because your work directly informs pricing decisions that affect ERMCO's competitiveness and profitability in the transformer market.
💡 A Day in the Life
Your day might start with refreshing recurring pricing and sales reports, checking for anomalies and validating data against source systems. You could then investigate a pricing discrepancy flagged by Sales, collaborating with Finance to trace it to a root cause. Later, you might build an ad hoc analysis for a new quote or update price sheets in the ERP, ensuring accuracy before they go live. You'll regularly communicate with cross-functional partners to clarify requests and present findings.
🚀 Application Tools
🎯 Who Pioneer Transformers Is Looking For
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas) and experience with data analysis tools; familiarity with ERP systems or pricing software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data validation—you catch inconsistencies others miss and can trace root causes.
- Ability to work independently from ambiguous questions, structuring analysis and communicating findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in pricing, sales operations, finance, or data analysis, ideally in manufacturing, energy, or industrial sectors.
📝 Tips for Applying to Pioneer Transformers
Highlight specific examples of how you've used Excel or other tools to clean, analyze, and report on pricing or sales data—quantify the impact (e.g., 'reduced quote errors by 15%').
Research ERMCO's product lines (distribution transformers, engineered solutions) and mention how pricing analysis supports their utility and OEM customers in the energy transition.
Emphasize your ability to handle recurring reporting and ad hoc requests simultaneously; give an example of a time you improved a recurring report's accuracy or efficiency.
Since the role is remote, demonstrate your self-discipline and communication skills—mention experience working remotely or with distributed teams.
Tailor your resume to include keywords from the job description: pricing operations, quotation, data validation, discrepancy investigation, price sheet maintenance, and cross-functional collaboration.
✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter
In your cover letter, focus on: (1) your hands-on experience with pricing or sales data analysis and the tools you use (Excel, ERP, BI tools); (2) a specific example of investigating and resolving a data discrepancy that led to improved pricing accuracy; (3) your ability to partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations—mention how you translate data into insights for non-technical audiences; and (4) your interest in ERMCO's mission to power communities and support grid modernization, connecting your analytical work to their broader impact.
