Policy Associate/Manager for Communications & Policy

• Conduct policy research, analysis, writing, and advocacy on social determinants of health issues such as affordable housing, workforce development, and food security.
• Manage communications strategies to educate and grow support for the anchor mission framework, including writing, editing, storytelling, and content support.
• Coordinate the HAN Aligning to Advance Policy initiative group and help shape policy direction and campaign strategies.
• Support public convenings, conference planning, and preparation of presentation materials.

This role advances health equity by helping hospitals leverage their economic power to address social determinants of health, creating healthier communities through policy advocacy and strategic communications.

• Graduate degree or 5+ years of post-college work experience (7+ years for manager level).
• Proficient in policy advocacy and communications, including writing press releases, op-eds, and using media database software.
• Skilled writer capable of producing clear, engaging prose on complex topics.
• Ability to communicate effectively with high-profile stakeholders.

Remote, full-time position with a 4-month probationary period. This is a bargaining unit position covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU). Salary not specified.
