How to Apply for People Partner

at Ofload

๐Ÿข About Ofload

Ofload is a logistics tech company focused on optimizing freight to reduce emissions and create sustainable supply chains across Australia. As a fast-growing startup in the green logistics space, you'll have the opportunity to shape people practices in a mission-driven, high-impact environment.

About This Role

As a People Partner, you'll act as a trusted advisor to leaders, driving organizational design, workforce planning, and people initiatives to support Ofload's scaling. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company's culture and policies align with Australian employment law while using data to improve retention and engagement.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with a check-in with a team lead to discuss a performance issue, followed by analyzing attrition data to present to the Head of People. You could then facilitate a workshop on team effectiveness, and end the day by updating people policies to align with new employment law changes.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Ofload Is Looking For

  • An HR professional with 2+ years of experience, including at least 1 year as a Business Partner or Advisor in a fast-paced, scaling organization.
  • Someone with strong business acumen who can partner with leaders on strategic people matters, not just administrative tasks.
  • A stakeholder management expert who can influence across all levels and build trust quickly.
  • A candidate with solid knowledge of Australian Employment Law and experience applying it in a tech or logistics startup.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Ofload

1

Highlight specific examples of how you've partnered with leaders in a scaling environment to drive organizational design or workforce planning.

2

Demonstrate your data-driven approach by mentioning how you've used people analytics (e.g., attrition, engagement trends) to inform decisions.

3

Showcase your knowledge of Australian Employment Law by referencing a relevant case or policy you've implemented.

4

Tailor your resume to emphasize experience with workshops, facilitation, or continuous improvement in people practices.

5

Research Ofload's sustainability mission and mention how your HR work aligns with reducing emissions or building sustainable teams.

Based on this role, you may be asked about:

1 How would you approach a leader who resists HR involvement in their team's organizational design?
2 Describe a time you used people data to identify a trend and implemented a solution. What was the outcome?
3 How do you stay updated on Australian Employment Law changes, and can you give an example of how you applied a recent change?
4 Ofload is scaling rapidly. How would you prioritize competing people initiatives?
5 What role does culture play in reducing attrition, and how would you measure it?
