How to Apply for Paralegal
at Swiftly, Inc
🏢 About Swiftly, Inc
Swiftly is a mission-driven transit data platform that helps over 200 agencies in 12 countries improve on-time performance by up to 40% and passenger information accuracy by up to 50%. Working here means directly contributing to more reliable public transit, reduced emissions, and better urban mobility. As a remote-first company with a strong customer base including LA Metro, MARTA, SEPTA, and MBTA, Swiftly offers a unique blend of civic impact and high-growth tech.
About This Role
This is the sole legal role at Swiftly, reporting to the CFO, so you'll own the entire legal and compliance function—from contracts and NDAs to business licenses, insurance, and customer documentation. Your work will be highly visible and critical to enabling Swiftly's sales and operations, ensuring that transit agencies can sign and pay without legal delays. You'll have support from external counsel but will be the go-to person for all legal matters, making this ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a broad, impactful position.
💡 A Day in the Life
Your day might start with reviewing a new NDA from a transit agency, then jump into a call with the sales team to discuss contract terms for a pending deal. Later, you'll coordinate with finance to renew a business license and update insurance certificates, while also fielding questions from customer success about documentation needed for a new client. You'll regularly interact with external counsel on more complex matters, ensuring Swiftly stays compliant and deals move forward smoothly.

📝 Tips for Applying to Swiftly, Inc
Highlight your experience as a solo or primary paralegal supporting a broad range of legal matters—Swiftly needs someone who can hit the ground running without a large legal team.
Emphasize any work with public transit agencies or government contracts, as Swiftly's customers are primarily transit agencies with specific procurement requirements.
Show familiarity with SaaS metrics and contracting models (e.g., subscription agreements, data processing addenda) to demonstrate you understand Swiftly's business model.
In your resume, quantify your impact: e.g., 'Managed 100+ NDAs and 50+ MSAs annually, reducing turnaround time by 30%,' to show efficiency and results.
Mention any experience with insurance renewals, business licenses, or compliance documentation—these are key responsibilities that many paralegals may not have handled.

Based on this role, you may be asked about:
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Assuming you'll have a large legal team to delegate to—this is a solo role, so avoid implying you need heavy support or supervision.
- Focusing only on traditional law firm experience without showing adaptability to a fast-paced, in-house tech environment where you'll interface with sales and finance.
