How to Apply for National Member Organizer
at Dream Defenders
🏢 About Dream Defenders
Dream Defenders is a national Black freedom organization that boldly challenges capitalism and envisions a society built on interdependence and wealth redistribution. Working here means joining a movement of young activists committed to transformative change, not just a job. The organization centers Black youth and young adults, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to grassroots power-building.
About This Role
As National Member Organizer, you will own the infrastructure that engages and develops members across the country, from managing digital platforms to coordinating leadership pathways. This role is impactful because it directly strengthens the capacity of local formations and ensures members are connected, trained, and mobilized for campaigns. You'll be the backbone of national member coordination.
💡 A Day in the Life
A typical day might start with checking member data in AirTable and updating the national calendar. You'll then have several 1:1 calls with core leaders to assess their development needs, followed by a working group meeting to refine campaign templates. Afternoon could involve troubleshooting the Portal or pulling reports for the team, ending with a strategy session on emerging leader pathways.
