Narrative Journalist / Storytelling Writer Consultant - Guatemala

• Develop an original editorial concept and narrative approach for a bookazine publication.
• Conduct research and in-depth, trauma-informed interviews with women activists in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.
• Transform interviews and research materials into a compelling narrative work, developing themes and narrative threads.
• Lead the creative process from concept through final publication, coordinating additional creative expertise as needed.

This role amplifies the voices of women activists in Mesoamerica, creating a compelling narrative that highlights their experiences and challenges, thereby advancing women's rights and social justice in the region.

• Demonstrated experience in narrative journalism, literary non-fiction, long-form storytelling, or documentary storytelling.
• Strong portfolio of published work.
• Experience conducting sensitive and trauma-informed interviews with strong understanding of ethical storytelling practices.
• Deep familiarity with social, political, and cultural contexts in Latin America; fluent in Spanish and English.
