Media & PR Specialist (Contract)

• Lead and evolve earned media strategy to secure high-impact, photo- and story-driven media placements.
• Build relationships with key editors and journalists across priority regions (North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America).
• Position We Animals' work within timely, newsworthy narratives and secure thought leadership placements (op-eds, expert commentary).

This role amplifies the visibility of animal protection issues through strategic media placements, influencing public discourse and policy change to improve the lives of animals globally.

• Media savvy with strong understanding of newsrooms, journalists, and editorial processes.
• Strong network of media contacts in animal protection, environmental, science, policy, law, food systems, or mainstream news.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experienced with international media outlets.
• Familiar with animal advocacy or related nonprofit sectors; highly organized and proactive.

12-month contract at 24 hours per week. Rate: $36 CAD/HR. Fully remote, global. Target start mid-August.
