Maine State Coordinator

• Lead legislative advocacy efforts in Maine to pass policies that strengthen local news.
• Build and manage broad state-level coalitions uniting local media, small businesses, and economic development leaders.
• Coordinate project timelines and ensure cross-functional accountability among stakeholders.

This role directly supports the revitalization of local journalism in Maine, strengthening democratic processes and community health by passing nonpartisan, platform-neutral policies that direct funding to local newsrooms.

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience with at least 2 years in legislative or coalition building, campaign, or advocacy work, preferably at the state level.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of Maine's political landscape and experience working within the legislative system.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and willingness to travel.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Benefits include generous time off, employer-paid medical/vision/dental insurance, 401(k) with employer contribution, and optional disability/life insurance and FSAs.
