Legal Assistant

• Assist attorneys in representing formerly incarcerated individuals with legal barriers to reentry, including relief from legal financial obligations, vacating convictions, and criminal record clearance.
• Manage client intake, communications, and case file systems to ensure efficient and high-quality legal services.
• Prepare and file legal documents, obtain court records, and support logistics for mass assistance days and other advocacy events.

This role directly supports the restoration of rights and opportunities for individuals harmed by the criminal legal system, helping to eliminate debt, clear records, and reduce barriers to reentry in Washington State.

• Lived experience with the criminal legal system preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of court filing protocols, legal terminology, and case management systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro; experience with LegalServer and Asana preferred.

Salary range: $27.15/hr to $38.64/hr (full-time, 40 hrs/week). Benefits include: 401k match up to 4%, generous medical/dental for employee and dependents, 17 paid holidays, 15-21 vacation days, 12 personal days, long-term disability insurance, and Flexible Spending Account.
