Controller

• Own the financial backbone of the organization — running financial controls, leading budgeting and forecasting, managing cash flow, and overseeing spend and contracts.
• Build dashboards and reporting cadences for timely, accurate financial reporting to leadership, the Board, and funders.
• Manage all cash inflows and outflows, including grants, donations, vendor payments, and outgoing grant disbursements.
• Design and enforce internal controls, lead the annual audit and 990 processes, and ensure GAAP and nonprofit accounting compliance.

This role ensures that Reflective can responsibly manage significant capital to accelerate sunlight reflection research, enabling informed decisions about climate interventions that could rapidly limit climate impacts.

• 6+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including a controller or equivalent senior role.
• Deep hands-on expertise in financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and GAAP.
• Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with strong documentation practices.
• Clear communicator who can translate financial complexity for non-finance colleagues, the Board, and funders.
