Senior Finance Manager at Climate Tech Startup (Remote | English)

• Take ownership of the finance function, including accurate financial records, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and transaction tracking.
• Support compliance with German accounting and tax requirements, process monthly payroll, and manage cash flow.
• Create and maintain project- and department-specific budgets, assist with financial reporting, and support audits.
• Contribute to improving financial workflows and documentation, and support fundraising efforts.

This role ensures accurate financial operations and compliance, enabling Open Energy Transition to focus on advancing the global energy transition through open-source tools and data solutions for sustainable energy planning.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, or bookkeeping.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to collaborate with external tax advisors for German compliance.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Odoo, Datev) and financial tools (Google Sheets, Excel).
• Fluency in English; German proficiency is a bonus.
