Senior Accountant

• Manage month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial tracking across multiple platforms.
• Reconcile deposits from banks, Stripe, and other payment platforms against Salesforce and internal records.
• Support Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice review, coding, approval workflows, and payment processing.
• Partner with Program and Development teams to track and reconcile restricted and project-based funds.

This role strengthens the financial infrastructure that enables New York Cares to mobilize volunteers and address pressing community needs across education, hunger, and public spaces, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth of impactful programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or nonprofit accounting certification a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a non-profit.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliation tools).
• Familiarity with MIP, QuickBooks, Salesforce, Stripe, and donor management systems highly desirable.

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000. Hybrid schedule (in office Mon/Tue/Thu; remote Wed/Fri). 11 paid holidays + 3 floating holidays. PTO: 12 days in year 1, 18 days in year 2; plus paid last week of December off. Paid sick leave. Paid Summer Fridays.
