Structural Engineer

• Work within a project team environment to support construction projects at the Knolls Site.
• Develop and define project scope with sponsors, and work with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects.
• Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors.

This role supports the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, ensuring the safety and reliability of naval nuclear reactors that power submarines and aircraft carriers, contributing to national security.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering and 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience performing structural engineering tasks including development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates.
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFIs, construction inspections, etc.).
