Senior Social Media Specialist, Japan

• Own daily social media content with a focus on Instagram, creating timely and newsworthy static assets and short-form video.
• Promote a broad range of petitions to maintain Change.org Japan's open platform reputation.
• Develop and execute an influencer engagement strategy to support priority campaigns.
• Ensure content output aligns with the global social media team's overall strategy.

This role amplifies the voices of people in Japan by promoting petitions that drive social change, strengthening democratic participation and enabling collective action on shared issues.

• 3+ years' experience in news media as a reporter or similar role, covering interviewing, photography, video recording, writing, and editing.
• Proven ability to communicate fluently in both Japanese and English.
• Deep understanding of Japanese news and social media landscape; ability to plan culturally relevant content.
• Experience growing social media accounts organically for a major Japanese media outlet, company, non-profit, or campaign organization (nice to have).

Part-time (24 hours/week), 6-month fixed term role. Remote-friendly with preference for Tokyo area. Opportunity to work at the world's largest platform for democracy, at the intersection of technology and social impact.
