How to Apply for Investment Officer, Northwest Arkansas
at Village Capital
🏢 About Village Capital
Village Capital is a nonprofit venture capital firm that uses a unique peer-selection model to back entrepreneurs solving social, economic, and environmental challenges. Unlike traditional VCs, it prioritizes impact over profit, offering revenue-based financing that aligns with the needs of early-stage startups. Working here means joining a mission-driven team that has supported over 1,800 startups and is committed to reinventing the system for equitable entrepreneurship.
About This Role
As the Investment Officer for Northwest Arkansas, you will be the local face of Village Capital, sourcing and managing early-stage investments in the region. You'll lead financial analysis and due diligence for revenue-based financing deals, from sourcing to close. This role is impactful because you'll directly support underserved entrepreneurs in a growing ecosystem, leveraging alternative capital structures to fuel businesses that might not fit traditional VC models.
💡 A Day in the Life
A typical day might start with reviewing a batch of applications from the NWA ecosystem, followed by a call with a local entrepreneur to discuss their revenue model. After lunch, you might analyze financial projections for a potential deal, then attend a networking event hosted by a regional accelerator. You'll wrap up by updating your pipeline in the CRM and coordinating with legal counsel on a term sheet.
