Head of Content Strategy, Communications

• Lead the development, production, and distribution of high-quality editorial content that advances the organization's mission and expands brand reach and impact.
• Guide the organization's editorial voice, ensure messaging and branding consistency across all communication channels and publications.
• Manage a team of writing, digital, and social media staff to execute content strategy and daily publishing operations.
• Collaborate with program, development, and leadership teams to translate complex issues into compelling content for diverse audiences.

This role amplifies the Animal Legal Defense Fund's mission to protect animals through the legal system by creating compelling content that raises awareness, drives engagement, and supports high-impact lawsuits and advocacy efforts.

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a leadership position driving editorial, journalism, or digital content strategy.
• 3+ years experience managing a team of content writing, digital or social media staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic mindset, and sound editorial judgment.
• Experience translating complex topics (policy, research, social issues) into accessible content; proficiency with CMS platforms, analytics tools, and digital publishing best practices.
