Government Affairs Lead

• Help set Base's government affairs strategy at the state and local level, building relationships with regulators and stakeholders to expand operations.
• Monitor legislative efforts across the country, assess business-model impact, and translate findings into recommendations.
• Draft legislation, testimony, comment letters, and position papers; manage external lobbyists and advocacy partners.
• Build coalitions with industry groups, consumer advocates, and other stakeholders to advance policy positions on distributed energy resources.

This role shapes the regulatory environment for distributed energy resources, enabling Base to expand its network of batteries that transform the fragile grid into a resilient, abundant system, accelerating the transition to clean energy.

• 7+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or lobbying with a track record of advancing legislation.
• Deep knowledge of state legislative processes and existing relationships with legislators or stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple state workstreams and outside lobbyists.
