Global SCM Material Sustainability Lead (f/m/d)

• Lead the end-to-end management of the Material Sustainability pillar, aligning methodologies for environmental impact assessments, defining processes, implementing initiatives, and monitoring progress across the business unit.
• Develop standardized process flows for material sustainability requirements, ensuring seamless coordination and effective implementation.
• Identify opportunities to enhance material sustainability, driving projects such as decarbonization efforts and improving practices with key global suppliers.
• Implement performance monitoring systems to track progress against material sustainability goals, enabling data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.

This role directly contributes to Hitachi Energy's sustainability goals by driving decarbonization, improving supplier practices, and enabling data-driven decisions that reduce environmental impact across the supply chain.

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management with focus on sustainability, with proven leadership in strategy and roadmap creation, preferably within global or large-scale organizations.
• Strong expertise in materials sustainability standards such as ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and related frameworks.
• Extensive experience with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and implementing global sustainability programs related to materials and suppliers.
