Freelance Reporter/Writer for Animal Welfare Nonprofit

• Research and write compelling, accurate copy for petitions and news stories involving animal protection.
• Edit articles to elevate quality and impact of content, ensuring consistent voice with key audiences.
• Create eye-catching headlines and select emotion-eliciting images to compel readers to share and take action.
• Fact-check news stories and petitions to ensure accuracy and compile information for a broad audience.

This role advances animal protection campaigns by creating compelling content that grows Lady Freethinker's influence, increases engagement, and inspires action to protect animals.

• Demonstrated experience strategically engaging audiences and developing compelling, high-quality creative content (text, image, and video).
• Knowledge of AP style and strong comprehension of factual information with ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Impeccable attention to detail, including excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
• Solid technological skills, including proficiency in cloud-based platforms and communications tools.

Independent contractor position. $40 - $42/hour. Approximately 2-6 hours/week. Room for growth for the right candidate.
