How to Apply for Executive Director

at Alliance for Innovation in Global Health

🏢 About Alliance for Innovation in Global Health

The Alliance for Innovation in Global Health is a global membership network of 110+ organizations headquartered in Silicon Valley, uniquely positioned at the intersection of technology, private sector, and global health. Unlike traditional global health nonprofits, it operates as a trusted neutral platform that catalyzes cross-sector collaboration through strategic convenings, curated connections, and ecosystem insight. This is a rare opportunity to shape the connective infrastructure that enables progress on the field's hardest challenges, at a time when AI, new capital, and geopolitical shifts are transforming global health.

About This Role

As Executive Director, you will lead the Alliance through a period of significant transformation, leveraging its distinctive Silicon Valley location and tech-heavy membership to bridge communities that rarely work together. You will be responsible for strategic direction, membership growth and engagement, financial sustainability, and serving as the primary ambassador for cross-sector collaboration in global health. This role is impactful because you will directly enable the connective infrastructure that Bridgespan research shows is essential for solving complex global health problems.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve a morning call with a tech company executive to explore a potential collaboration on AI for health, followed by a strategy session with the Board on membership growth. In the afternoon, you might facilitate a virtual convening of members on a pressing global health topic, then review financial reports and prepare for an upcoming fundraising pitch. You'll constantly balance internal management, external relationship-building, and thought leadership.

🎯 Who Alliance for Innovation in Global Health Is Looking For

  • Proven executive leadership in a membership organization, network, or alliance, with a track record of growing and sustaining multi-stakeholder collaborations.
  • Deep understanding of global health, technology, and the private sector, including familiarity with AI's role in health and emerging funding models.
  • Exceptional convening and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage C-suite leaders from diverse sectors (tech, philanthropy, academia, government) and drive collective action.
  • Experience with fundraising, financial management, and Board development, ideally in a remote, distributed team environment.
