Mission

What you will drive

  • Provide zealous advocacy for children with disabilities in the child welfare and juvenile justice system to secure early intervention and special education services through IFSP and IEP meetings, mediations, and compliance complaints.
  • Train and supervise pro bono attorneys, interns, and law clerks.
  • Develop and deliver community trainings and tools for clients, caregivers, and stakeholders on special education and early intervention rights.
  • Collaborate with the education team to identify and address issues related to ableism, racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • J.D. degree and California bar admission in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of legal experience.
  • Personal, educational, or professional experience in regional center early intervention advocacy, school district special education advocacy, child welfare, juvenile justice, or education systems.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills highly preferred.
