Economics Research Intern

• Contribute research, writing, and analytical support to projects measuring, monetizing, and mitigating health and climate impacts from petrochemical pollution.
• Use data analytical and visualization tools to represent summary statistics and patterns in emissions data from industrial facilities.
• Prepare draft sections of discussion papers, policy memos, and other work products for internal and external communication.
• Support the development of an investor scoping strategy using financial and environmental risk profiles of petrochemical facilities.

This internship supports EDF's efforts to reduce health risks from air pollution and toxic chemicals, particularly in communities affected by petrochemical pollution, by providing economic analysis and research to inform policy and market-based solutions.

• Enrolled in or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate degree program in public policy, environmental studies, communications, environmental health, or similar fields.
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in technical writing, data analysis, and stakeholder interviews.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Experience in ArcGIS Desktop and/or QGIS preferred.

Compensation: $18-20/hour, depending on degree level. Part-time (20 hr/week) or full-time (35 hr/week) for Fall 2026. U.S. remote or hybrid options available.
