How to Apply for Document Control Manager

at CleanSpark

🏢 About CleanSpark

CleanSpark is a Nasdaq-listed data center developer and Bitcoin mining company that controls over 1.8 GW of power, land, and data centers across the U.S., powered by low-cost, high-reliability energy. Working here means joining a fast-growing, capital-intensive business at the intersection of Bitcoin, energy, and operational excellence, where you can directly impact the buildout of critical digital infrastructure.

About This Role

As Document Control Manager for Data Centers, you will own the document-governance framework for CleanSpark’s AI data center portfolio, ensuring design, construction, commercial, and turnover records are complete, current, traceable, and accessible. You will set standards and workflows in the project management information system (PMIS) and coordinate with internal teams, customers, consultants, contractors, and vendors to keep information reliable across multiple projects.

💡 A Day in the Life

You might start by reviewing new document submissions from contractors, checking them against CleanSpark’s standards and updating the PMIS. Later, you’d meet with project managers and external partners to resolve document control issues, then audit turnover packages for an upcoming data center handover. Throughout, you’d ensure every record is traceable and accessible, supporting CleanSpark’s fast-paced buildout.

🎯 Who CleanSpark Is Looking For

  • 5+ years of document control experience in large-scale data center, mission-critical, or industrial construction projects, with a strong understanding of design, construction, and turnover documentation lifecycles.
  • Hands-on expertise with PMIS platforms (e.g., Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, or similar) and the ability to configure document workflows, permissions, and metadata standards.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across internal teams and external partners (contractors, consultants, vendors, customers) to enforce document control procedures and resolve discrepancies.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced environment where speed, accuracy, and traceability are critical.
  • Familiarity with AI data center or Bitcoin mining infrastructure documentation is a plus, but not required.

📝 Tips for Applying to CleanSpark

1

Highlight specific PMIS platforms you’ve configured or administered, and describe how you set up document numbering, revision control, and approval workflows for large capital projects.

2

Quantify your impact: mention the number of projects, documents, or stakeholders you managed, and how your document control system improved project delivery or audit readiness.

3

Tailor your resume to emphasize data center, mission-critical, or industrial construction documentation—CleanSpark is building AI data centers, so relevant sector experience stands out.

4

Show you understand CleanSpark’s business model: mention Bitcoin mining, energy optimization, or data center development in your cover letter to demonstrate genuine interest beyond a generic document control role.

5

Because the role is remote, emphasize your ability to work independently, manage asynchronous communication, and coordinate across time zones with contractors and internal teams.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

['Your experience establishing document control frameworks from the ground up or scaling them across a growing portfolio of data center projects.', 'Specific examples of how you’ve used a PMIS to improve document traceability, version control, and turnover package completeness.', 'Your ability to collaborate with contractors, consultants, and vendors to enforce document standards and resolve issues without slowing down project execution.', 'Why CleanSpark’s mission—innovating Bitcoin mining with clean, affordable energy—excites you and how you can support their AI data center buildout through rigorous document governance.']

🔍 Research Before Applying

To stand out, make sure you've researched:

  • → Study CleanSpark’s recent press releases and investor presentations to understand their data center portfolio, expansion plans, and how they integrate Bitcoin mining with energy infrastructure.
  • → Research the typical document control challenges in AI data center construction, including turnover documentation, as-built records, and commissioning packages.
  • → Familiarize yourself with the PMIS platforms CleanSpark likely uses (e.g., Procore, Aconex, or similar) and be prepared to discuss how you’ve configured them.
  • → Understand the basics of Bitcoin mining and why data center uptime and documentation accuracy are critical to CleanSpark’s operational excellence.

💬 Prepare for These Interview Topics

Based on this role, you may be asked about:

1 How would you design a document control framework for a new AI data center project from scratch, including standards, workflows, and PMIS configuration?
2 Describe a time you had to enforce document control procedures with a resistant contractor or vendor. How did you handle it?
3 What PMIS platforms have you used, and how did you customize them to meet the needs of a large-scale construction or data center project?
4 How do you ensure turnover packages are complete and accurate when multiple stakeholders are involved?
5 CleanSpark operates at the intersection of Bitcoin, energy, and data centers. How would you adapt your document control approach to a fast-paced, capital-intensive environment?

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using a generic document control resume that doesn’t mention data centers, construction, or PMIS specifics—CleanSpark needs someone who understands the complexity of mission-critical facilities.
  • Failing to demonstrate remote work discipline: since the role is remote, avoid giving the impression you need constant supervision or can’t manage asynchronous collaboration.
  • Ignoring the company’s core business: not mentioning Bitcoin, energy, or data centers in your application signals a lack of genuine interest in CleanSpark’s mission.
