How to Apply for Director, Strategic Partnerships and New Ventures
at Serve Robotics
🏢 About Serve Robotics
Serve Robotics is a zero-emissions robotics company revolutionizing sustainable, self-driving food delivery with personable sidewalk robots. Their fleet already operates commercially in major cities like Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago, delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians. Joining means working with tech industry veterans in software, hardware, and design to solve real-world problems and scale robotic delivery from novelty to ubiquity.
About This Role
As Director of Strategic Partnerships and New Ventures, you will originate, structure, and close major partnerships and new ventures that open new verticals, business models, and routes to market for Serve and its subsidiaries. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, you are a zero-to-one commercial builder responsible for turning Serve’s robotic delivery platform into scalable, sustainable business lines. This role is pivotal in expanding Serve’s footprint beyond food delivery into new industries and partnership ecosystems.
💡 A Day in the Life
A typical day might involve meeting with potential partners to explore new verticals, working with legal and finance to structure a deal, and collaborating with product teams to assess feasibility. You’ll also spend time analyzing market data, pitching to executives, and refining Serve’s partnership strategy to scale robotic delivery across new industries.

- Experience structuring and negotiating complex deals (e.g., joint ventures, licensing, distribution agreements) from inception to close.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and evaluate new market opportunities and business models.

📝 Tips for Applying to Serve Robotics
Highlight any experience you have in robotics, autonomous systems, or last-mile delivery—even if not directly in partnerships—to show domain relevance.
Quantify your deal-making impact in your resume (e.g., 'Closed 5 strategic partnerships generating $10M in new revenue').
Research Serve’s existing partnerships (e.g., with Uber Eats, 7-Eleven) and mention how you would expand or replicate that model in your application.
Emphasize your ability to operate zero-to-one: provide examples of building new business lines or entering new markets from scratch.
Tailor your cover letter to Serve’s mission of sustainable, self-driving delivery and explain why you’re excited about sidewalk robots specifically.
✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter
['Your experience in originating and closing strategic partnerships, especially in tech or mobility, and how it translates to Serve’s growth stage.', 'A specific idea for a new vertical or partnership opportunity that Serve could pursue, showing your strategic thinking.', 'Your ability to work with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, legal) to structure and execute deals.', 'Your passion for sustainable urban logistics and how Serve’s zero-emissions robots align with your values.']
