How to Apply for Director of Development

at Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders, Inc.

🏢 About Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders, Inc.

Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders (FCDR) is a Christian disaster rebuilding organization that helps families recover after catastrophic loss through home rebuilding, volunteer mobilization, and long-term community restoration. They are entering a new season of growth, strengthening fundraising capacity and expanding donor relationships to support future disaster recovery efforts and major initiatives like the ROOTS Community Land Trust project. Working here offers a unique opportunity to combine faith-based service with professional fundraising, making a tangible difference in the lives of disaster-affected families.

About This Role

As the Director of Development, you will lead the fundraising strategy and donor engagement, focusing on major donors, churches, foundations, corporations, campaigns, recurring giving, and long-term stewardship. This is a builder role where you'll collaborate closely with the Executive Director, board members, and volunteers to deepen relationships and build sustainable support for FCDR's mission. Your work will directly enable the organization to expand its capacity and respond to future disasters, making a lasting impact on communities in need.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve meeting with potential major donors over coffee or Zoom, strategizing with the Executive Director on fundraising goals, and drafting a grant proposal to a foundation. You might also connect with church leaders to plan a fundraising event, review donor data to identify prospects, and follow up with volunteers who are passionate about the mission. Your time will be split between building relationships, planning campaigns, and ensuring donors feel valued and connected to FCDR's impact.
