Mission

What you will drive

  • Provide direct accounting and/or CFO-level support for 5-7 small nonprofit partners, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, budgets, and ensuring compliance.
  • Supervise part-time bookkeepers and manage CANOE's accounting services, including developing and scaling a high-quality, values-driven accounting practice.
  • Collaborate with CANOE leadership to strengthen financial systems, improve decision-making, and prepare partners for long-term growth.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • At least 7 years of nonprofit accounting experience, including filing 990s, 1099s, and state tax filings.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a team and supporting professional growth.
  • CPA, CMA, or experienced senior accountant/CFO-level consultant.
  • Highly proficient in QuickBooks Online for nonprofit accounting and accounts payable platforms like Ramp.com.
